One checkable claim

Crash and dice can be recalculated; a pokie cannot

Five of the ten operators here carry a provably fair label, and 21 of the 100 brands in our fact library do. What the label buys you is narrow and real: the ability to recompute one round after it has been played. It says nothing about the size of the edge, and nothing at all about whether you get paid.

Almost every claim on a casino homepage has to be taken on trust. This is the one that does not, and it is worth knowing exactly how far it reaches before treating it as a safety feature, because it is not one.

The mechanism, in the order it happens

A provably fair round runs on three inputs. Before the bet, the operator generates a server seed and shows you its hash — a fixed-length fingerprint that reveals nothing about the seed but cannot be produced from any other value. You supply or accept a client seed of your own. A nonce counts the rounds.

You place the bet. The outcome is computed from those three values together. Afterwards, the operator reveals the server seed, and you can do two things with it: hash it yourself and confirm it matches the fingerprint you were shown beforehand, and recompute the round from the three inputs and confirm it produces the result you saw.

If both checks pass, the result existed before your bet and was not changed after it. That is the entire claim. It is a real claim, and it is smaller than the marketing around it.

What it does not prove

It does not make the game favourable. Crash, dice and plinko typically run a house edge around one per cent, which is better than most slots and is still an edge that applies to every round. A verifiable losing game is a losing game whose arithmetic you can audit. A verifiable scheme is recorded as a property of the game, never as a reason to rank, among the crypto casinos ranked for New Zealand.

It does not prove the seed pair you were shown is the one the house used across the session. The check confirms consistency within a round. Confidence over many rounds comes from rotating your client seed and re-checking, not from one verification.

It does not cover the lobby. Third-party slots run on the studio's servers with the studio's random number generator, and there is no seed for a player to reveal. That is why the label attaches to a casino's own originals and to nothing else in the catalogue.

It says nothing about payment. The most common complaint against a crypto casino is not a rigged round; it is a withdrawal that stops. Verifiability lives entirely upstream of that. What happens downstream is on when a casino is not paying out.

Sorted by licence status and by what each operator’s terms say about verification. The order is not for sale — see the methodology page. Every Play button opens the same place: the casino this site is paid to feature, whichever row the button sits in.

Why a pokie cannot do this

A slot's outcome is produced by a random number generator running inside the studio's infrastructure, and the studio does not expose the seed. What it exposes instead is a return-to-player figure in the game's information panel, which is a statistical statement about the long run rather than a check on any single spin.

Those are different kinds of evidence, and the gap between them is bigger than it looks. An RTP figure is a claim about a distribution that no individual player will ever observe enough rounds to test, published by the company that benefits from it and audited privately. A provably fair result is a claim about one round that any player can test in a minute, unaided.

The catch is that the figure you cannot verify is often the more useful of the two: a 96% slot is a better proposition than a 1% edge game played at ten times the speed, and speed is exactly what crash and dice are built for. The RTP page sets out who owns that number, and the pokies page covers why the same slot can ship at several returns.

Five of ten, and 21 of a hundred

The label is a minority feature and it stays one. Across the 100 brands in our fact library, 21 carry it. On this table it is five of ten.

The count moved recently, and how it moved is worth saying. The table on this site previously marked seven operators as provably fair and one that publishes a provably fair page of its own as not. Those cells were rewritten to match the fact library, which records the label only where the operator's own documents carry it. One operator on this page uses the phrase in its marketing copy while publishing no verification page that could be read, and it is recorded as a No for that reason — a marketing word and a mechanism are not the same thing, and this is precisely the column where the difference shows.

That is also the honest answer to the obvious question. Where the label is absent, it means no verification page of the operator's own was read. It does not mean the operator was caught doing anything.

How to check one yourself, in about a minute

Open the game and find its fairness or verify panel — every implementation has one, usually behind the game's settings icon.

Note the hashed server seed shown before you play. Set your own client seed rather than accepting the default; if the interface will not let you, the proof is weaker, because both inputs are then the operator's. Play a round. Then rotate the seed, which reveals the old server seed, and paste the three values into the verifier the operator provides or into any independent one.

Do it once when you open an account and once after any session that felt wrong. It costs nothing, and it is the only claim on the site you can settle without asking anybody.

Where it fits against the checks that matter more

Rank it below the register entry and below the withdrawal terms. A verifiable game at an operator whose licence has been withdrawn is a fair round played against a company with nothing to lose; the register check is on checking a crypto casino and the three tests none of the ten passes are on the safest sites page.

Rank it above game count, above bonus size and above anything in a badge. It is the only thing on a crypto casino that a New Zealander sitting at home can independently confirm, and the operators that offer it have handed the reader a tool the rest do not. Live tables sit outside it entirely, for the reasons on the live dealer page, and the support services remain the right call if the speed of a one-second game stops being a choice.
